In recent years, Ossigeno has shattered the silence on journalists under threat in Italy and  given visibility and strength to hundreds of victims of serious abuse. Ossigeno  has aroused public attention to the spread of violent censorship in a democratic  Italy. It has proposed new rules and laws sufficient to make the work of journalists safer. Ossigeno has done so with volunteers and using very modest resources. Now, to move forward and achieve greater results, Ossigeno‘s work must continue and develop.

Wishing this is not enough; additional resources are needed.

In recent years, the quantity and pace of work required by the Observatory’s activities (monitoring, disseminating news on those under threat, organizing meetings, analysing data, developing policy proposals) have expanded, month after month, and what Ossigeno does at present exceeds what  a limited number volunteers even with their good can do on a recurrent  basis.. The fragile little boat Ossigeno launched  has explored the coast and has studied many fish. But the bigger fish that interest Ossigeno mostly swim further offshore. Ossigeno would like to sail in deeper waters but it cannot do it with such a small vessel with limited equipment.

To have an observatory in the field capable of monitoring everything that needs to be monitored, to pay for some recurring services, to buy in some additional services, to reimburse expenses borne by volunteers, to publicize the work done by the Observatory, additional resources are needed. Ossigeno hopes to raise them with the help of those who believe that these activities are essential.

Tax benefits envisaged

FOR INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYERS

1. 19% of their amount up to a maximum of 2,065 Euro (two thousand and sixty-five) are deductible from the gross tax pursuant to the Presidential Decree 917/86
2. 10% of the declared income, up to a maximum of 70,000 Euros are deductible pursuant to art. 14 D.L. 35/2005
3. The above two fiscal benefits cannot be combined.

FOR BUSINESSES AND ASSOCIATIONS

Donations to ONLUS organizations are:

4. DEDUCTABLE for an amount not exceeding 2,065 Euro or 2% of the declared business income, pursuant to art. 100 c.2 letter h of DPR 917/86
5. DEDUCTABLE up to 10% of the declared income up to a maximum of 70,000 Euro pursuant to art. 14 D.L. 35/2005
6. The two benefits cannot be combined. One must choose between the deductions.
